Hey Folks!
First of all I want to thank all of you who came to celebrate Tracker’s 30th Anniversary with us – it was a wonderful weekend! The workshops were awesome – the food was great, and I spent considerable time “swimming” in the dunking tank! By the way, for those of you who put me there….you know the Scout in me will get my revenge somehow!
Other than that – the camp was bursting with families, kids, and a host of Tracker “old timers.” All I can say is - “Thank God I’m not getting as dilapidated as you old farts!” LOL. No really, it was great to get the chance to see so many of you and meet your families and kids as well. Actually - having all of those children around made my weekend! I could only think of how good it is for them to be a part of what we are doing here together. They, after all – are truly the next generation of the Children of the Earth, and each of them holds in their hands all of our future hopes and dreams.
I also want to thank Debbie Tremel for her amazing organizational skills and hard work in putting it all together for us – thanks Debbie!
Folks, I’ve had an epiphany of sorts and am toying with a few new ways of teaching here at the Tracker School.
One of the frustrations I have felt over the years was the drastic difference between the teaching time and dirt time that Rick and I had with Grandfather, versus what I have with each of you on an ongoing basis. In other words, what we had as kids was continuity of time which allowed Grandfather to build upon our knowledge and skills, day after day, in a continuous fashion.
I’ve come to realize how critical that continuity was in developing Rick and I to our greatest potential. And though I know that most of my more fundamental classes are absolutely fine the way they are, I want to find the most advantageous way to teach those of you who have a real passion and dedication to a specific track, when you’re ready to “dig in”! I’ve started to do this by allowing only a small number of people into specific classes so I can get more "face-time" with each of you. And though I know it’s frustrating to get “closed out” of a course, if certain classes are exceptionally successful – meaning that if a lot of people are closed out of a class, and the students taking that course learn a whole lot – I may choose to teach it to another small group in the future.
So, if lately you’ve heard of smaller, more concentrated classes, and ongoing, continuous tracks, you’re not crazy. I’m currently experimenting with a variety of ways to maximize your continued growth as well as fulfilling my promise to Grandfather by teaching our beloved primitive skills and philosophies to as many dedicated people as I can. I’ll keep you apprised of what I’m doing as I keep pushing the envelope with even more series’ of powerful and dynamic intensives. The only caveat I have is that, if you are interested in a course that I put on the schedule – sign up fast, because as some of you have witnessed lately - I won’t leave it open for very long.
Well – it’ll be 30 more years ‘til I’m in the dunking tank again – but I hope to see you well before then!
Until I do - All Good Medicine,
