Tracker School News

Tom's Monthly Newsletter: June 2007

Hi Folks;

               I’ve decided I’m going to call 2007 “The Year of the Trackers”! We have had such great success so far – every class has been outstanding. In Florida, the Advanced Pressure Release class went far beyond my expectations, followed by an impressive Search & Forensic Investigation class. Now this Advanced Tracking & Awareness class I just finished in the Pine Barrens went light years beyond any other class I ever taught. We were getting into areas of awareness that I don’t usually get into until I teach expert tracking. The whole season so far has been awesome.

               The second thing I want to get into is to thank the folks in this last Advanced Standard class. The fierce fire we had here in New Jersey caused us to evacuate students, volunteers, caretakers and staff, including myself, all 160 people, from the Pine Barrens camp for more than 24 hours. And you folks responded in epic fashion.

Afterwards, I heard stories about Tracker students and staff who were actually living for the night in a local high school, staying up all night caring and comforting the folks who were evacuated from local nursing homes. And it’s classic that in a time of peril, instead of getting down, you all were lifted up and really rallied together for the cause.  Other people can keep their warmth and comfort, to me you folks showed true survival instincts. The care you showed to the community and the way you kept your spirits up, did my heart good.  I love that kind of thing, and I won’t soon forget this class.

Other than that, the Fall 2007 Intensive Schedule and the 2008 regular Schedule will be up any day now. It’s a great line-up, and I’m finally teaching some amazing Intensives that I’ve wanted to do for nearly 30 years. Take a look and I hope to see you at camp.

Until then, All Good Medicine,
