Course Series Overview
Welcome to the Tracker Schools newest Track, “WorldTracker” ©
Unlike the normal Ecotours, which are now found in abundance throughout the world, the Tracker Ecotour will be different and far more intense. Certainly these tours will contain the usual intense immersion into the wildlife and plants of each continent, but in addition, we'll thoroughly explore survival, tracking, and awareness in each landscape. Debbie and I will fill these 10-day treks with all manner of great experiences, from Costa Rica our first experience, to Africa, the Artic and beyond.

Course Description
Welcome to our newest addition to The Tracker
School! WorldTracker We will be trekking the
country of Costa Rica from the west coast to
the east coast for 10 action packed days with
a few days in Nicaragua. We will fly or go by
boat to remote areas like Rio Indio or Cahuita
National Park where we will learn about the
great and fragile ecosystem of the country as
well as going kayaking through the immense forest.
We may see all four monkeys that inhabit Costa
Rica. We have many other activities planned
while learning of the flora and fauna and of
course how to survive in the riches of a rainforest.
We will include a hike to a volcano, a canopy
walk, a zip line, and a waterfall, truly all
the beauty that Costa Rica has to offer.
The Tracker School would like to welcome Marcos
Soto to our WORLDTRACKER program. He is a bilingual
environmental teacher with a Bachelors Degree
in Biology and has years of experience running
eco tours and, for a young man, is quite the
grandfather. He has worked in the ecotourism
for 21 years including the area of hotel/motel
management. He has a wealth of knowledge of
Costa Rica, and The Tracker School would like
Marcos to share his encyclopedia of information
with you. He will be co-instructing alongside
Tom Brown, Jr.
This will be an intimate class of only 20 students
so there will be one-on-one time with both Tom
and Marcos. This will be the trip of a lifetime
for all who are able to attend. Normally, The
Tracker School requires that everyone must attend
the standard class to attend any other class
that is offered. We have decided to require
that only one (1) person in a group must have
graduated the Standard class. This is a wonderful
way to introduce friends and family to The Tracker
School. If you are coming as a single, a single
rate will apply, and you must have graduated
the Standard class.
We are planning two days in the Northwest central
section of Costa Rica called Arenal. There we
can see an active volcano, visit hot springs,
see a waterfall, and learn about some of the
10,000 species of plants that grow only in the
canopy.
Then we will travel in the early morning to
the Sarapiqui area where we can white water
raft on the Sarapiqui River. After white water
rafting we will boat to Rio Indio, Nicaragua
for two evenings and a visit to an indigenous
town. These wonderful people speak English and
have for 200 years. They are very much hunter-gathers
but do a little subsistence agriculture. While
keeping most of their customs they also interact
with the townspeople for trade of their produce
for sugar, coffee and other grains and necessities.
There we will take a kayak tour deep into the
jungle. We will travel the waterways in search
of four King Fishers, Sloths, Howler monkeys,
and other animals and reptiles like the elusive
Caiman crocodile.
We then leave Rio Indio and head toward Southern
Caribbean Coast in the Almendros & Corales
area and spend two nights. There we will explore
the Cahuita National Park where we can swim
and snorkel. We will visit the town of Limon
for a local lunch. Then we will fly to the Pacific
Coast in the central section of Costa Rica near
the border of Panama where we can visit Corcovado
National Park and look for the White Face Capuchin
monkey. There we will experience wonderful ride
on a zip line.
We are all excited at The Tracker School to
embark on this new adventure and look forward
to you joining us and becoming a WORLDTRACKER!
This is a basic itinerary and will be subject
to change. As we near the departure date you
will be sent a final itinerary with hotel names,
days in each location, meals, and other items
that are included.
